An idyllic setting for unforgettable mountain vacations
Perched at an altitude of 1,300 meters on a sunny, south-facing terrace overlooking the Rhône valley, Villars-sur-Ollon boasts incomparable views of the Mont Blanc massif on one side and Lake Geneva on the other. Throughout the year, the resort offers its visitors a wide variety of sports and leisure activities.
Below Villars, the small neighboring town of Gryon lies on the eastern side of the valley. Together, the two communities form the vacation destination of “Villars-Gryon”, which can be reached by road from Ollon or Bex. This friendly locality offers numerous restaurants, hotels and bars, as well as a lively shopping street and a railway station. Popular with all age groups, Villars has a cosmopolitan atmosphere and boasts several prestigious private schools.

The Villars ski resort encompasses the two ski areas of Villars/Bretaye and Gryon, and is linked via Meilleret to the Les Diablerets ski area, where the glacier culminates at 3000 meters. All in all, the ski area comprises 44 facilities and 125 km of pistes. In addition, there are three snow parks, snow gardens, 44 km of cross-country trails, toboggan runs and numerous winter hiking trails, as well as lively après-ski facilities.

From skiing to hiking
Around the village, protected areas offer almost untouched nature.
Villars welcomes its guests in a typical Alpine atmosphere and offers a relaxing escape from everyday life. In summer, the main activities are hiking, mountain biking and golf. Visitors can choose from some 300 km of marked trails and 150 km of mountain bike routes. An attractive circuit leads upstream to the mountain lakes of Chavonnes, Bretaye and Lac Noir. In summer, the Col de la Croix provides road access to Les Diablerets. From Bex, a narrow-gauge, winding railway line runs via Gryon to Villars, then on to Bretaye.
An 18-hole golf course set in magnificent countryside at an altitude of 1,600 m offers the chance to play golf in an Alpine setting with views of Mont Blanc. At the heart of the Villars resort, the sports center - equipped with an ice rink, swimming pool, tennis courts and squash courts - offers a wide range of activities. The Villars-Gryon villages offer guests unlimited access to all lifts and over 30 sporting and cultural activities (between June and October).

Not far from here are theme parks and exciting excursions: Aquaparc and the Swiss Vapeur Parc in Le Bouveret, the adventure park in Aigle (aerial courses), the adventure labyrinth in Evionnaz, the salt mines in Bex, the “Fun Planet” in Villeneuve, the charm of Montreux, Chillon Castle and numerous water sports on Lake Geneva.
